WHY IT MATTERS

Let me explain

The 4.2 km third runway is aligned with Riyadh's prevailing winds and raises capacity from 65 to 85 aircraft movements an hour. It is being built by FCC Construcción and Almabani, and the masterplan is by Foster + Partners. In July 2026 the enabling and substructure contract for Terminal 6 (about SAR 800 million) went to a consortium of CCECC and Mofarreh AlHarbi & Partners. The terminal adds 40 million passengers and is targeted before Expo 2030.
